On December 21st, the Etiquette Contest for Zhejiang College Students came to a close in Hangzhou in which XUE Hua from the Faculty of Electronic and Information Engineering won the runner-up with a perfect display of etiquette and magic show, and XU Fan-dan from the Modern Logistics School won the fifth place with graceful manners.
Launched in May 2013, the contest lasted eight months attracting more than 5,000 contestants all over Zhejiang province, and eventually fifty of them from thirty-five universities had advanced to the finals successfully. The contest was divided into four sections. Firstly, it was a “show phase” with a manifesto of youth etiquette “Beautiful Youth Starting from Me” delivered to Zhejiang college students. Secondly, a group contest of etiquette sitcoms was carried out in which the contestants were to present the show according to the given scripts. Thirdly, a group display of etiquette was put on. Finally, it was a talent contest in which the contestants in every group compiled a collective show of etiquette.
The etiquette contest of college students was a systematic project to exhibit the youth etiquette of contemporary Chinese college students, to transmit etiquette knowledge and to build a harmonious society. The contest vividly exhibited the success of etiquette activities at Wanli and served as a test for Wanli students to learn and apply the etiquette as well.
