On June 26th, the departure ceremony for the 2014 summer social practice was held in the lecture hall of our school library. Attending the ceremony were vice president of our university, leaders of the social practice group, teachers and students involved in the summer social practice.
At the ceremony, teachers of the Youth League Committee first introduced the preparatory work of the social practice. This year’s summer social practice included 52 groups among which 19 teams were key teams. All together there would be 8 types of activities such as explaining policies, researching deepened reform, and learning to be an innovator and entrepreneur. Then a student representative who took part in the summer program for the past three years reported his experience. He appreciated the summer social practice for its giving the students down-to-earth spirit and valuable experiences which helped them to acquire esprit de corps and group honor.
Jiang Jianjun, Vice President of Wanli University, affirmed the achievements of the projects in the summer social practice. He called upon the students to carry forward the spirit of ZWU “One hundred percent work for only one percent chance” and demonstrate the excellence with hard working. He also stressed the importance of safety and security and suggested that each group be appointed a teacher and a person especially responsible for safety problems during the social activities. After that, the 2014 summer social practice was officially launched when the students took over the team flag from Mr. Jiang and made a solemn pledge to complete their tasks and show the spirit of ZWU with passion, courage and persistence.
