On the evening of November 14th, the tenth drama festival of Foreign Languages College was put on the stage with the vice president YING Min attending the opening ceremony and delivered a warm speech in superb English. The vice dean of International College Ms. ZHANG Rong was also present at the ceremony. All the teaching staff and students of FLC and student representatives from other colleges watched the spectacular performance.
The festival integrated different oriental and western cultural elements in dramatic performance to display the unique charm of FLC culture and students’ creativity that combine their English proficiency and acting in the festival. Love is an eternal theme in the world that is interpreted differently in different ways with wonderful performances. The Mural from English class 118 showed the sacrifice in love and Othello from English class 114 displayed the importance of trust in love. Besides, The Great Gatsby from English class 115 made the audience know the plot in the condensed show and Cinderella from Japanese class 111 brought a totally unexpected ending by subverting the classic fairytale. Eventually, the first prize was captured by Othello from English class 114 and Gao Village from Japanese class 112 respectively.
The drama festival has been a branded event in cultural construction of FLC that has been annually held for ten years and has been regarded as one featured activity in International Wanli series. It has witnessed the growth of FLC for one decade which attributed the splendor to its tenth session and it will be carried on to keep the cultural legacy and make a more brilliant future of FLC.
